Pass Plus course

Pass Plus Course CambridgePass Plus is a scheme developed by the DVSA to provide newly qualified drivers with enhanced driving tuition. Much of the experience gained will be situations that have not arisen during the course of normal driving lessons. Pass Plus will enable you to become a more confident driver with the ability to deal with hazards more effectively. As well as becoming a better driver, completing a Pass Plus course enables you to receive up to 30% discount on your insurance premium by participating insurance providers.

Anyone that holds a full UK driving licence is eligible to take part in the scheme. The course can be taken within the first year after passing the Driving Test.

How does the Pass Plus course work?

The Pass Plus Scheme is a course of around six hours divided into the following modules listed below.

  • Introduction and town driving
  • All Weather Driving
  • Out of town and rural roads
  • Night time driving
  • Dual carriageway driving
  • Motorway driving

Your Pass Plus registered driving instructor will meet you at a location of your choice and lessons will finish at a location of your choice. The Pass Plus course consists of a minimum of six hours and can be completed in a single day or spread out over several days.

What happens when I have completed the Pass Plus course?

There is no test at the end of the Pass Plus course. Your driving instructor will grade you based on your ability. The completed form will be send to the DSA where in return, they will send you a certificate of completion. This certificate can be presented to your insurance provider where you could receive a discount.

Pass Plus lessons are priced at £25.00 per hour.
