Intensive driving course by Cambridge Driving School
Intensive driving courses or crash course as they are sometimes known as, are the most efficient, fastest, and successful method of learning to drive, proven by the first time pass rate of 74%.
The main benefits from an intensive driving course compared to standard driving lessons is that because you are taught in such a short space of time, it allows your confidence to grow and the knowledge you learn is not so easily forgotten. Just after an intensive course, a driving test is often taken.
Please note that there is usually around an 8 week waiting duration for practical driving tests in Cambridge. See our information on Cambridge test centres for waiting times.
How do the intensive courses work?
Your driving instructor will pick you up at a location of your choice and when the intensive lesson ends, you can be dropped at your desired location. If you have previous driving experience, you will most likely start the lesson from where your driving instructor meets you. If you have never driven before, your instructor will drive you to a quiet location to start.
These courses are ideal if you wish to pass your test quickly. The entire course will be on a one to one basis with the same driving instructor.
Cambridge Driving School use a variety of small, well maintained dual controlled cars. All of which are easy to drive and make the manoeuvres easy.
How many hours will the intensive course take?
Everybody's abilities are different. Your first driving lesson as a novice will be to teach you how to drive as well as assess your ability. Your instructor will then provide you with an accurate assessment of the amount of hours you will need. The amount of hours to reach test standard based on the national average is 45. Cambridge Driving School's average is 30 hours. As this is an intensive course, little is forgotten. Test standard may be reached in under 30 hours.
Intensive driving courses at Cambridge Driving School are highly competitive and cheaper than national driving school prices. The more hours pre-paid, the more you save. Block booking discounts apply:
